I would like to say that I am going to the Ice Park today. But I don't want to lie to you.
The park has been open a month, there is talk of not having it again, but we are both snoozing. Our week is so busy, from 5:30am to 9pm every.single.day. But Saturday, glorious Saturday, our day starts at 5:30am and ends at like noon. Sometimes it goes until 4. Either way, we have the WHOLE rest of the day to relax and enjoy our little family. And today, neither of us can get off the couch. Again.
So, I regret to say that we may miss the Ice Park entirely this year. But this semester is just unbearably busy.

An Alaskan To Do List
I'm making this official. Y'all can keep me accountable if I let us leave the Last Frontier without finishing my list.
Here it is, in all its glory:
Here it is, in all its glory:
- Arctic Ocean
- Enter the Arctic Circle
- Northern Lights - DONE!
- Iditarod start in Anchorage
- Denali Bus Tour - Maybe I'll settle for putting my name in the lottery and driving it. Driving it would be more comfortable and unusual.
- Kenai Fjords
- Glacier Bay
- Wrangell-St. Elias
- Hike a volcano
- Midnight Baseball Game (summer 2011)
- Yukon Quest
- Ice Park
- Walk on a glacier
- Winter Solstice (winter 2011) I want to watch the moon circle the sky almost uninterrupted
- Wildlife/Glacier Cruise - let's see a puffin!
- Outhouse Races - DONE!
- Anchorage
- Anchorage Zoo
- Polar Bear in the wild [In Barrow you can watch a polar bear feast on a whale carcass]
- Chena Hot Springs - we should have drinks in the ice hotel bar
- Less Developed Hot Springs - Tolovana Hot Springs would fit the bill
- Permafrost Tunnel
- Alaskan Railroad
- Tour the super computer
- Touch a musk ox
- Visit Santa at the North Pole - DONE!
- Get a PFD!
- Play with the super cold. Water disappearing, bananas shattering, whatever.
- Museum of the North
- Alaskaland! (aka Pioneer Park) - DONE!
- Salmon Bake (mmmm)
- I'd like to see the salmon run at one point. Anyone know where I can see a river so full of fish that I could just reach in there and grab one? Or are those rivers all claimed by bears?
- Ice Museum
- Gold Mine (any one of the cheesy tourist attractions will suffice)
